Farm Credit Bank of Texas Promotes Ivory Tate to Vice President, Human Resource Management

For Immediate Release January 26, 2010

AUSTIN, Texas – The Austin-based Farm Credit Bank of Texas (FCBT) has appointed Ivory Tate vice president of human resource management. She succeeds Steve Knowles, who began a phased-in retirement Jan. 1. Tate, who has more than 14 years of experience in the field of human resources, has been with the bank since 2004. She also serves as the bank’s chief diversity officer.

Tate received a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and a law degree from the University of Texas. Before settling into her career in human resources, Tate worked as a radio broadcaster and then as a Louisiana State Trooper. Her varied interests and work history have given her a solid foundation not only for her new position, but also for her continued commitment to diversity in the workplace.

In her years with the bank, Tate has worked in the areas of recruitment, training and development, employee relations and employment law. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Austin Bar Association and the Farm Credit Diversity Workgroup, and also serves on the Texas District Benefits Administration Committee and the AgFirst/FCBT Plan Sponsor Committee.

The $14-billion Farm Credit Bank of Texas provides funding to 19 rural financing cooperatives in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico and Texas. The bank is part of the nationwide Farm Credit System, the nation’s single largest source of loans for agriculture, agribusiness, rural real estate and country homes.
