Austin’s Farm Credit Bank of Texas Named a Top Place to Work for 2015

For immediate release: January 12, 2015

AUSTIN, Texas – Farm Credit Bank of Texas (FCBT) recently was named one of the 2015 Best Companies to Work for in Texas.

The Best Companies program recognizes the top 100 places of employment in Texas benefiting the state’s economy, workforce and businesses. It is a project of Texas Monthly, the Texas Association of Business, the Texas State Council on the Society for Human Resource Management, and the Best Companies Group.

Headquartered in Austin, Farm Credit Bank of Texas is a cooperatively owned wholesale bank with approximately 220 employees and assets of $17.3 billion. This summer, it will celebrate its 99th year of financing agriculture and rural America.

“The strength of our organization has always been our people and our purpose,” said Larry Doyle, FCBT chief executive officer. “Part of our DNA as a cooperative is that we care about each other and those we serve, and it shows in our success and how well we work together.”

The Best Companies program is open to for-profit, nonprofit and government entities that have at least 15 employees. Selection of the top 100 companies is based 25 percent on an employer questionnaire concerning the company’s policies, practices and benefits it offers employees, and 75 percent on feedback provided by employees in a separate survey.

Farm Credit Bank of Texas has participated in the Best Companies to Work for in Texas annual survey three times and has been named to the top 100 list each time.

The 2015 rankings will be announced at a Best Companies to Work for in Texas event on March 31 and will be featured in a special publication of Texas Monthly.

Farm Credit Bank of Texas provides funds and services for 14 affiliated retail lending cooperatives in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico and Texas, which make loans for rural real estate, agricultural production and agribusiness. It is also active in the capital markets arena.

The bank is a part of the nationwide Farm Credit System, the country’s largest source of agricultural and rural financing, established in 1916.
