Job Scope:

Responsible for initial relationship and follow-up with mid-size projects. Develops and implements select customer referral strategies in order to increase client satisfaction and loan portfolio growth for the Association. Assists senior-level staff with the development of the Association’s market share. Recommends or approves loans within the limits of specified delegated authority and loan committee consistent with association policies. Develops and manages a loan portfolio. Manages and maintains current business relationships and seeks new accounts.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience and at least one (1) year or more of experience in the administration and analysis of credit on commercial and mortgage loans including risk assessments and recommendations on approval of loan applications.

Skill Requirements:

Knowledge of accounting/finance principles; knowledge of lending disciplines; ability to analyze a wide variety of financial information and identify creative solutions, strong communication, negotiating, problem solving, and administrative skills; superior time management and personal management skills; should have a basic skill level in Microsoft Office applications.

Essential Functions:

  • Sell Texas Farm Credit products and services through well-designed customer/prospect presentations and proposals which provide solutions to identified needs
  • Assist prospective and current borrowers with their credit needs and with formulating solutions to credit related issues
  • Gather and/or oversee gathering of credit information and complete credit analyses
  • Negotiate and structure sound loan contracts
  • Make delegated credit decisions
  • Provide recommendation on actions above authority and follow up with full implementation
  • Implement, monitor, and service credit contacts for performance
  • Monitor business relationships and credit compliance of originated loans
  • Ensure proper loan underwriting and structuring is achieved through enforcement of loan policies and that they are properly approved in accordance with loan authorities and in conjunction with the centralized underwriting units
  • Manage and monitor respective loan portfolio and status of all exceptions and past dues on business and consumer loans in accordance with loan policy working in conjunction with reports from the centralized underwriting units
  • Proactively develop and maintain a high level of knowledge about production agriculture, commodity marketing, agricultural economics, technology and other specifics pertinent to the assigned portfolio, industry, segment, or territory
  • Perform appraisals, inspections and/or collateral evaluations in compliance with district and association standards and procedures
