Lone Star Ag Credit, headquartered in Fort Worth, TX, is looking for a Loan Documentation Director. This position manages and administers the loan documentation specialist function. Develops administrative systems and reviews systems to ensure compliance with association policies, procedures, and controls. Leads and directs the work of others. Requires comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter.


  • Manages oversight of loan closing activities.
  • Evaluates, makes recommendations, and oversees implementation of new loan processes and procedures for the Association. Trains Loan Documentation Specialists and office staff with computerized loan management systems regarding the use and completion of loan servicing documents.
  • Evaluates, makes recommendations, and oversees implementation of loan servicing instruments for new and existing loan portfolios. May perform analysis and interpretation of unique structural issues, such as complex Agribusiness loans and makes recommendations to management on adoption of procedures and documentation. Works with accounting and lending staff to integrate new Association loan products into loan documents.
  • Organizes loan closing requirements and instruments in compliance with all Association policies, procedures, and regulations. Ensures all requirements are met prior to funding.
  • Consults and coordinates with lending and compliance department managers, senior management, and internal audit department personnel regarding new and revised legislation, regulations, agency rulings and guidance memos, and revisions to policies, procedures, and products.
  • Oversees the daily operations of the loan documentation processing team.
  • Communicates Association objectives, strategic plan, and mission to the team.
  • Develops and implements a staffing plan. Reviews job functions to ensure maximum efficiency and recommends staffing changes as necessary.
  • In coordination with the CLO, serve as liaison to the compliance officer for matters relating to lending.
  • Works closely with the CCO on responding to internal audit and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPC) requests/findings.
  • Leads curriculum development for all lending with respect to regulatory knowledge and required certifications.


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus a minimum of eight (8) years' related experience.
  • Knowledge of consumer loan policy, credit granting criteria, interest rates and how they are computed, and required documentation for each type of loan.
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial and mortgage lending regulations, including but not limited to the following: TRID/RESPA Integrated Disclosure Rule (Reg Z and RESPA); Fair Credit Reporting Act (FRCA), Flood Insurance Regulation, Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Reg B), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (REG C); and Securities Exchange Act (Reg X).
  • Specialized knowledge of terminology related to legal descriptions and documentation of real property.
  • Ability to stay up to date on new regulatory changes for all lending.
  • Specialized knowledge of title commitments/policies and underwriting standards related to title examination.
  • Specialized knowledge of Association bylaws, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the loan process from underwriting through servicing.
  • Strong ability to quickly absorb complex, nuanced, and detailed legislation and legal opinions and to summarize new regulatory requirements into actionable policies and procedures, training materials, and communications to front-line team members, executive management, and the Board of Directors.
  • Knowledge of the lending function from product development to implementation.
  • Ability to apply judgment to broader aspects of established practices to situations, which go beyond clear, concise guidelines.
  • General knowledge of accounting/financial systems.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the Association.
  • Capacity to work independently and as a team member while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and build trust.
  • Strong working skills with spreadsheets, word processing, and loan operating systems.
  • Fosters strong computing ethics and integrity.

  • Ability to engage in problem-solving skills to help identify and solve potential issues in the field.
  • Strong interviewing skills/techniques and personnel management skills including hiring and employee development are required.

*This is not a remote position and is located in Fort Worth, TX.
