Company Profile

AgTexas Farm Credit Services serves approximately 2,600 borrowers in a 43 county trade territory. The association has an average volume of approximately $2 billion. The loan portfolio consists of cotton, peanuts, livestock, dairy, feed grains, real estate and ag-related business loans. The association territory provides diversity in production and mortgage loans as well as commodities financed.

Minimum Education, Experience and Skill Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience and six (6) or more years of experience in finance or accounting; CPA certification preferred. Skill in oral and written communication. Ability to perform senior level analysis, financial and portfolio reporting, and ad-hoc reporting. Senior-level professional, handles assignments that are broad and complex in nature.

Job Purpose and Scope

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information for the association; developing projections, reports, and presentations. Understands GAAP, association policies and procedures, and FCA regulations and prepares reporting that complies with these.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial, regulatory, and tax reports for management, the board of directors, external stakeholders, and auditors.
  • Provides Subject Matter Expert support for financial systems; reviews, analyzes, and evaluates financial systems, needs, and processes.
  • Develops and maintains internal control structure to ensure protection of association assets. Assists in determining appropriate user access in systems and reviewing and documenting access.
  • Understands loan documents, loan products offered, and the association’s investment portfolio. Assists with inputting and overseeing changes in loan systems related to modifications and conversions, inputting of rates and inquiries regarding products, and the analysis of specific investments and inquiries related to investments.
  • Provides backup for other accounting functions such as cash management, accounts payable, or other duties as required. Assists with branch inquiries as required.

Working Relationships

Frequent interaction with Association staff and management. Occasional interaction with Farm Credit Bank of Texas staff and area professionals including real estate agents, commercial bankers, and others who deal with the association in the normal course of business.
