Company Profile

AgTexas Farm Credit Services serves approximately 2,600 borrowers in a 43-county trade territory. The association has an average volume of approximately $2 billion. The loan portfolio consists of cotton, peanuts, livestock, dairy, feed grains, real estate and ag-related business loans. The association territory provides diversity in production and mortgage loans as well as commodities financed. The AgTexas Crop Insurance Department actively serves the territory with multi-peril, crop hail, livestock and pasture insurance products.

Minimum Education, Experience and Skill Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) or more years of general office/clerical experience. Property & Casualty insurance license is required within six months of employment. Strong customer relationship skills and commitment to outstanding customer service is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficient computer skills, a willingness to learn new software applications; must possess the ability to work within deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as personal computer skills are required.

Job Purpose and Scope

  • Performs various insurance administrative and servicing duties including answering customer questions, routing applications, data entry, processing insurance payments, monitoring insurance requirements, and reporting.
  • Maintains all required insurance documentation and ensures accurate enrollment and billing processes are followed.
  • Calculates rates and premiums from approved tables, ensuring proper collection of premiums for policyholders.
  • Monitors and maintains records for insurance programs.
  • Answers incoming calls to department staff, representing the department and Association in a professional manner.
  • Uses computer systems to prepare reports, store and manipulate data through various insurance software programs, spreadsheets and databases.
  • Analyzes insurance information and maintains policyholder account information.
  • Maintains and protects confidential information in compliance with security procedures.

Working Relationships

Frequent interaction with association customers. Frequent interaction with association departmental staff. Occasional interaction with Farm Credit Bank of Texas staff and association senior management. Frequent interaction with area professionals and others who deal with the association in the normal course of business.
