Salary: $10/hour plus travel expenses
Location: Travel expected throughout the AgTexas Territory
Full-time, paid position for the Summer Semesters of 2021. Internship term will be June 7th through July 30th, 2021. Students will travel throughout the AgTexas territory on a weekly basis. Students are expected to stay in each location Monday-Friday. Reliable transportation is required. Travel expenses will be covered by the Association. This temporary position is not eligible for benefits.
AgTexas Farm Credit Services serves approximately 2,600 borrowers in a 43 county trade territory. The association has an average volume of approximately $2 billion. The loan portfolio consists of cotton, peanuts, livestock, dairy, feed grains, real estate and ag-related business loans. The association territory provides diversity in production and mortgage loans as well as commodities financed.
Exposure will be provided to all functions within the organization, including:
• Credit Analysis • Operations/Loan Servicing
• Lending Services • Portfolio Management
• Appraisal • Crop Insurance
In addition to the areas noted above, the students will be asked to engage in a project as defined by AgTexas that will be developed throughout the 8 week period with a final report and presentation to the Senior Management Team on the final day of the internship.
Coursework in finance, business, agricultural economics and/or accounting preferred. Position available for Junior or Senior under-graduate and graduate students. Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office applications. Skill in oral and written communication.
Frequent interaction with branch managers, departmental staff and management. Occasional interaction with CEO.
