AUSTIN, Texas
- The Austin-based Farm Credit Bank of Texas (FCBT) recently hired
Kenneth "Allen" Buckner as vice president and association relationship
manager. Buckner is one of three relationship managers who will
administer the direct-lending relationship and work as partners
on new business development with 22 financing associations in the
Tenth Farm Credit District.
Buckner, a
22-year veteran of the Farm Credit System, came to the bank from
Spartanburg, S.C., where he worked for Palmetto Farm Credit, ACA
as manager of the commercial loan department. In that position,
he oversaw a department that had direct loans up to $58 million
and participated in loans as large as $350 million.
Previously,
he worked for Piedmont Farm Credit Services, Southeast Georgia Farm
Credit Services and the Farm Credit Bank of Columbia, which is now
AgFirst Farm Credit Bank.
Buckner is
from Mars Hill, N.C., where his family raised polled Herefords and
grew corn and hay. He worked his way through college on a tobacco,
cattle and hay farm, graduating with biology degree from Mars Hill
College and an MBA from Clemson University.
