AUSTIN, TX
- The Farm Credit Bank of Texas has hired Luis H.M. Requejo as vice
president and capital markets officer. He joins the Austin-based
bank's new Capital Markets Group, which will develop and service
a portfolio of large participation and syndication transactions.
Requejo
brings national and international capital markets experience to
his new position. For the past five years, he was vice president
of agribusiness in the food group-commercial lending group at Harris
Bank in Chicago, where he was involved in managing a $450-million
loan portfolio. Earlier in his career, he spent five years with
Cooperativa Agricola de Cotia in São Paulo, Brazil, helping to manage
a $200-million soybean and coffee trading division. He also served
a one-year internship with the World Bank.
Requejo attended
the University of Illinois as a Fulbright Scholar, earning master's
degrees in agribusiness and finance and a doctorate in agricultural
economics. He received his bachelor's degree in agricultural economics
from the University of São Paulo.
The $7.3-billion
Farm Credit Bank of Texas is a wholesale lender to 22 rural financing
cooperatives in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico and
Texas.
