AUSTIN - Stockholders
of the Tenth Farm Credit District recently re-elected Kenneth Andrews
of Madisonville, Texas, to the Farm Credit Bank of Texas (FCBT)
Board of Directors. Jimmy Dodson of Robstown was re-elected by acclamation.
Both men will serve three-year terms, beginning Jan. 1, 2006.
Andrews,
a rancher, began service on the FCBT board in 1994 and has represented
the Tenth District on the national Farm Credit Council Board of
Directors since 1996. He has served as chairman of the Tenth District
Farm Credit Council board for 10 years and is a member of the bank's
audit committee. Prior to joining the FCBT board, he was a director
of the FLBA of Bryan for 10 years, and was manager of the Federal
Land Bank Association (FLBA) of Madisonville from 1965 to 1982.
Andrews is a graduate of Sam Houston State University.
Dodson
is president of Dodson Farms, Inc., and Dodson Ag, Inc., both family-owned
cotton and milo operations. He has served on the FCBT board since
2003. He also is a member of the Tenth District Farm Credit Council
and the bank's audit committee. In addition, Dodson serves the National
Cotton Council as a member of the Health, Safety & Environmental
Quality Committee, and is active in other cotton organizations.
He is a graduate of Texas A&M University.
The cooperatively
owned Farm Credit Bank of Texas is the source of funds for 13 Agricultural
Credit Associations and eight Federal Land Credit Associations in
the Tenth Farm Credit District, which includes Alabama, Louisiana,
Mississippi, New Mexico and Texas. Together, these agricultural
financing cooperatives and the bank have nearly $10 billion in loans
outstanding to agricultural producers, agribusiness firms, country
homeowners and other rural landowners.
