AUSTIN, Texas – The Austin-based Farm Credit Bank of Texas has promoted Gary Pickering to vice president of credit operations and risk management, effective Dec. 1, 2007.
Previously, Pickering was vice president and association relationship manager for the bank’s Association Direct Lending Unit. He has served the Tenth Farm Credit District since 1985 in various capacities, with primary emphasis on credit and association operations.
Pickering began his Farm Credit career in 1973 as a loan officer trainee for the Farm Credit Bank of Wichita. In addition, he spent two years as senior vice president of Eastern Indiana Production Credit Association, part of the AgriBank district.
The $13.7-billion Farm Credit Bank of Texas provides funding to 20 rural financing cooperatives in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico and Texas. The bank is part of the nationwide Farm Credit System, the nation's single largest source of loans for agriculture, agribusiness, rural real estate and country homes.
