AUSTIN,
Texas - The Austin-based Farm Credit Bank of Texas (FCBT) has promoted
Isaac E. Bennett to vice president and unit manager of its Capital
Markets Group. In this position, he will oversee a portfolio that
totaled more than $1.2 billion in assets as of March 31, 2005.
Bennett joined
the bank in October 2003 as a vice president and capital markets
officer in the newly formed group. The Capital Markets loan volume
has experienced 285 percent growth since the group's inception.
The Capital Markets Group provides capital and liquidity for national
and multinational food and agribusiness firms, rural utilities and
rural communications companies.
Prior to joining
the Farm Credit Bank of Texas, Bennett was vice president of capital
markets with AgFirst Farm Credit Bank in Columbia, S.C., for three
years. In that position, he developed and managed a portfolio of
more than $300 million.
Previously,
Bennett was assistant to the president of South Carolina State University,
serving as liaison with the university's board of trustees and coordinating
constituency relations and legislative affairs. He also was vice
president of Edisto Farm Credit, ACA in Orangeburg, S.C.
Bennett is
a graduate of the Louisiana State University School of Banking.
He holds a master's degree in agribusiness and economics from South
Carolina State University and a bachelor's degree from the University
of Tennessee.
