SAN ANTONIO,
Texas - Fifteen rural financing cooperatives received the Farm Credit
Bank of Texas (FCBT) Pacesetter Award on March 26, achieving the
bank's highest possible rating in 2002.
The lenders
were honored during the Tenth Farm Credit District Annual Stockholders'
Meeting in San Antonio, Texas.
"Recipients
of the Pacesetter Award exceeded a rigid set of performance standards
for loan growth and financial operations in 2002," said Larry Doyle,
FCBT chief executive officer. "These exemplary lending institutions
set the pace in the Tenth Farm Credit District."
Following are
the award recipients and their main office locations: AgTexas Farm
Credit Services, Lubbock, Texas; Capital Farm Credit, Bryan, Texas;
Federal Land Bank Association (FLBA) of North Alabama, Cullman,
Ala.; Land Bank of North Mississippi, Senatobia, Miss.; FLBA of
South Alabama, Montgomery, Ala.; FLBA of South Mississippi, Jackson,
Miss.; FLBA of Texas, Coleman, Texas; Great Plains Ag Credit, Amarillo,
Texas; Heritage Land Bank, Tyler, Texas; The Land Bank of Sulphur
Springs, Texas; Lone Star Land Bank, Weatherford, Texas; Panhandle-Plains
FLBA, Amarillo, Texas; Southwest Texas ACA, Devine, Texas; Texas
AgFinance, Robstown, Texas; and Texas Land Bank, Waco, Texas.
The Tenth District
is composed of the Austin-based Farm Credit Bank of Texas, 12 Agricultural
Credit Associations and 10 Federal Land Credit Associations in Alabama,
Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico and Texas. Together, these co-op
lenders have nearly $6.8 billion in mortgage and production loans
outstanding to rural residents, agricultural producers, rural landowners
and agribusiness operations.
