AUSTIN, Texas –The Austin-based Farm Credit Bank of Texas (FCBT) has promoted Carolyn Owen to vice president and deputy general counsel of the Farm Credit Bank of Texas. She succeeds Kyle Pankonien, who was named the bank’s general counsel in December.
Owen has been with the Farm Credit System (System) since 1983. Most recently, she was FCBT vice president and assistant general counsel, corporate affairs. Owen has also worked on System committees for borrower rights, e-commerce and mission-related investments. She is a graduate of the University of New Mexico and received her law degree from the University of Texas.
The $13.7-billion Farm Credit Bank of Texas provides funding to 20 rural financing cooperatives in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico and Texas. The bank is part of the nationwide Farm Credit System, the nation's single largest source of loans for agriculture, agribusiness, rural real estate and country homes.
