Horace Harrod Joins Farm Credit Bank of Texas

AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin-based Farm Credit Bank of Texas (FCBT) has hired Horace R. Harrod as a vice president in the bank's new Capital Markets Group. The group will develop and service a portfolio of large participation and syndication transactions for the bank.

Harrod comes to the bank from CoBank in Denver, Colo., where he has gained more than 27 years of agricultural and rural-utility lending experience. For the past six years he served as senior portfolio manager, overseeing a team that provided financial services and more than $1 billion in credit to 200 energy cooperatives in the eastern United States. Previously, he was a CoBank senior vice president and division manager, responsible for their utility lending staff in the western two-thirds of the United States. During his career, he also has been responsible for large corporate accounts to regional agribusiness firms.

Harrod received his BBA degree in finance and bank management from the University of Kentucky and an MBA degree in finance from the University of Louisville.
