Call for Old Photos!

Readers are invited to submit photographs for publication in the summer 2010 issue of Landscapes magazine. This photo essay will feature historic images of agriculture and rural life in the region that Landscapes magazine serves.

Rules and Guidelines

Subjects:	Farming and ranching activities, farm/ranch family life, agricultural meetings, and rural gatherings
Date:	Prior to 1950
Location:	Photos shot in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico or Texas will be accepted
No. of entries:	Limit of three photos per reader
Deadline:	Extended to April 1, 2010

How to Submit Photos

High-resolution digital photographs and photographic prints will be accepted. However, prints (hard copy photographs), CDs and DVDs will NOT be returned. Do not submit original photos — have them scanned instead. Submit your photos via one of the three methods below.

Digital File Size

Digital photo files must be high enough in resolution to make an 8 x 10-inch print at 300 dpi. Generally, the higher the resolution, the better a photo will reproduce in Landscapes.

How to Scan Photos

An original photograph must be scanned at a high resolution and saved as a digital photo file in order to submit it to Landscapes. If you do not have your own scanner, take the photo to a custom photo lab or a self-serve photo lab, such as the labs that are located in many large supermarkets and chain drug stores

Due to space limitations, Landscapes may not be able to print all of the photographs that are received. However, photos that are not printed in the magazine may be published in the online edition of Landscapes. Credit will be given to the photographers (if known) and to those who submit the photos.

Upload your digital photo files to the Farm Credit Bank photo transfer utility. Digital photos must be high resolution. Go to the secure upload page and follow the instructions. Upload my photos	Print and complete the Photo Entry Form (pdf). Burn your digital photos to a CD or DVD. Give each photo file a name or identifying number. After burning the CD, check to make sure the photo files can be opened. Mail the disk and entry form in a padded envelope or CD mailer to: Landscapes Photographs Farm Credit Bank of Texas P.O.
