Farm
Credit Bank employees open their wallets and literally spill blood,
sweat and tears to help their neighbors and to improve the community
in which they live and work.
During the
past year, our team members have given their time and talent to
a variety of projects, including:
Habitat
for Humanity - In February, 14 bank employees joined the Habitat for Humanity Austin Wrangler Blitz Build where they worked on a house one week into construction. With nail and staple guns shooting, lots of measuring and leveling, and a ton of old fashioned hand hammering and cutting, FCBT employees laid a roof foundation, laid tar paper to the roof and siding, and installed windows.
Capital
Area Food Bank - FCBT employees strongly support Austin's food bank. We contributed more than 1,870 pounds of food and $2,509 for our less fortunate in the Austin area during our 2007 holiday food drive.
Coats
for Kids - Over the past two years, employees donated 60 coats and more than $1,500 to the annual Coats for Kids drive in Austin. This community project collects and distributes warm winter coats to Central Texas children and teenagers who otherwise might do without.
Race
for the Cure - More than 35 employees, family members and friends walked in the 2007 Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure. Farm Credit was also a Bronze-Level Sponsor of the race. 2007 was the fourth year that the bank had a team participating in the 5K race and the second year the bank was a corporate sponsor.
United
Way - Farm Credit Bank of Texas employees are quick to participate
in the United Way annual fund drive. For 2008, they collectively pledged more than $19,800 for 44 agencies that partner with the United
Way Capital Area.
Blood Drive - Our employees participate in quarterly blood drives in conjunction with the Austin Blood and Tissue Center. The center's Bloodmobile travels to Farm Credit Bank to make the process as easy as possible for our generous staff members. |
