| Celebrating 100 Years of Texas Agriculture |

The Texas Department of Agriculture is celebrating its centennial this year, and as one of the state’s oldest agricultural financing organizations, the Farm Credit Bank of Texas was proud to join H-E-B and ExxonMobile as a “Centennial Underwriter” of the celebration festivities, September 14-15. The first Farm Credit association started in Texas in 1917, just 10 years after the Texas Department of Agriculture was established. Over the years, the two organizations have continued their mission to serve the state’s farmers and ranchers. A centennial celebration was held at the Fort Worth Stockyards and included a gala featuring Texas foods, a 5K run, an ethanol racecar simulator and a concert by Clay Walker. There also were cooking demonstrations, educational activities and a petting zoo, all designed to give the general public a better understanding and appreciation of agriculture. |
